Code-switching involves adjusting one's style of speech, appearance, behavior, and cultural expression in ways that will optimize the comfort of others.

Code Switch is a continuation of a story of resilience and a collective experience of being  Mexican American. I have found comfort in fitting in at times as I continue assimilating to a culture that I was introduced to as a young adult. As a first generation Mexican American and a mother of a second generation there is a certain pass down of dreams, traditions and language. As my family and community grows, I see my dreams expanding and changing importance . With these images I try conveying a feeling of existing in between two cultures. Switching language when needed, and at times creating my own, dismantling my experiences and creating a diaspora.
